Baby Steps

Hey You All!!! How are you all doing?! It was a solid week here in SY. It was a good week though. This week I was really blessed. Just goes to show the Lord tests us until were about to break and then blesses us!)

One of these days I will get my letters organized but for today good luck...

Got the package! You guys are awesome! Wow there is sooo stinking much candy! I am sooo stinking excited! Thanks a ton! That totally made my day! and week! I love my family so much! Elder Espinola loves his gifts and says thank you very much! It was fun because we wore our DBACKs shirts today while we helped move the Zone Liders! He was dancing in all his new clothes. Thanks a bunch for doing that for him! He really appreciates it and I do Too! Especially like having a hairless nose!

First of all I hate to say I ruined two more pairs of pants. The crotch of one of them ripped at least 6 inches...needless to say I walked back to the house with small steps. Just goes to show you shouldnt be playing around in the cemetery. the other was I was frying some eggs and dropped one and grease everwhere. I think I will still wear them.

Tuesday was a good day. We did some contacts in the morning. I met a 14 yr old girl that had been married for over a year. Then next house we saw a man kinda hurry out the back door. We talked to her for a little. And then we asked her if her husband was there and she said that he left at six that morning. Again needless to say, we didnt find any investigators in that street.

Later that day we help a poor family in the branch move. It was sooo sad everything was soo old and soo ya...It reminded me of cleaning out the shed by the rentals with grandpa. The put a sheet over their bed so people wouldnt see how bad their bed was. It was pretty sad but they were very grateful for our help.

Our washer broke. 3 days with the shirt I am wearing right now and and 5 with the pants. The assistants said that maybe by next week (not this week, next week as in 2 weeks) maybe they will have a new one for us! were going to die!

I had an intercambio on Weds. I went to Azua! It was the best Spanish day that I have ever had! I totally tricked everyone becasue they all thought I knew spanish. It was really fun. I was with Elder Estepan. He is a native and he loves bball and we have a lot in common so it was fun to talk. he is really good to help with spanish and teach me so that was really nice! It was a blast but wow I swear I only slept 2 hrs that night becuase Azua is so stinking hot and there wasnt light which means no fans which means death. I swear summer arrived here. This week has been stinking killer! Wow!

Hahaha we were in the house of the carbal family and we were getting ready to watch the video the Restauracion and and the little son said the prayer and it he said Heavenly Father thanks for this fruit that you have given me that is so sour that it hurts my teeth and the dad yelled "Muchacho" and slapped him on the head. I dont know maybe you had to be there but everyone was laughing like crazy!

Saturday morning we went on an adventure to find trees so that emilio (cabral) could build a little shack to sell fruit and food. They dont have any money at all. It is soo sad. He is desperate and so we hiked about 4 miles to the mountain and cut down trees with machetes. It was lots of fun. Until we had to carry them back the 4 miles. We almost died!

I feel really happy because the only happiness they have right now is the Gospel. But we were able to help them find this happiness! They love the Gospel and are holding on to their faith and have faith that they Lord will help them find a way to make ends meet.

tell KARLIE that I did too write her back but she most have not gotten it but I will send another one soon!

We got a call sat night while we were walking in the street. I always have the phone cuz elder espinola doesnt want it. When I answered it someone said soemthing and I didnt understand so I said the usual "ok" and that was that. Apparently I had agreed to teach the investigators class. It was horrible. I was not prepared. When you arent prepared in your own language you pull something out of your pocket but when you arent prepared and dont know the language wow=disaster! But after that I had to talk in Sacrament meeting. That talk went really well. Everyone said I did really good! that was lots of fun.

Sounds like everyone is doing great at home! ITs go to be lots of fun to have maren home! She was giving me a hard time that she took over my room but its ok as long as she doesnt ___________________! Whoops I forgot she told me not to put this in the letter but I figured shed be disappointed if I didnt! :)

I love you all lots. Remember that the Lord is always there. WE just have to choose to see and feel him! I love you all soo much! Our family is amazing! 13 more days mom! :)

Clotheslined.... Again

Hey Family!

How are you all doing?! Soudns like another great week in the wilson home with lots of advantures and stories that sounds about like the same when i left! Looks like Dad is preparing for his adventure in his normal VERY PREPATED manner tht unlike every one else i am not going to make fun of cause I know that one day I will need something that he has!

This week wasnt to eventful! Went pretty well! Miguelina was baptized which was amazing because I have really hoped that she w ould be able to do it. I was really sad when she didnt pass the first time! Also two other girls about 18 years old were baptized. There names are Dominga and Crucibel. They were references from Joselito.

Tuesday we had to go to to Azua because Paablo, our baptism from last week, was arrested. He was mistaken for someone else who had his same name but his mom was freaking out so we went to azua with her and truns out he was clean and they let him go but it was quite an advanture!

We were contacting one day and we went to this house and there was a wire over there gate and it was really low. When i ducted under it when we walked in I said to my self. . . i need to remember that when I leave or else I am going to walk into it...well you already know how the story ends. I forgot about the wire and was writing in my agenda and wammmm clotheslined my self sooo hard! It was def the hardest one so far.. jerked my whole head back. We laughed about that for a while!

When we went to the market there were some clothes that were being sold there and we were looking for some pants for pablo because he doesnt have any to go to school and as were were searching, there was a pair of pants that had deseret industries on it! That sure made me laugh hahathe rejects of deseret made the flea market.

Mom will like this one... I couldnt find any of my socks! They all disappeared and then I looked under my desk and there was a big ol pile of socks. there were 8 pairs sitting under there. Elder E laughed at that for awhile.

The president of the branch asked me to give a talk this next sunday on the missionary work! I am a little bit nervous for that one! Idk how well it will go but we will see what happens! I am a little bit nervous!

The area is giong good. We are trying to find new investigaters but for now we are striking out. I think we found one kid the will progress but its really sad becasue when we was born his parents didnt declare him so he doesnt have papers so he cant go to school or get a good job or anything. Hes 18 and doesnt have much hope for anything so I hope the gospel can help him.

We havent had time to wash lately so I am on my 3rd day with this shirt and Elder Espinola has 4 days with his! Just imagine. We Smell really good! haha

Not else is new. Just some rain this week. Which is always nice while its raining but later its always very humid!

I love you all very much! I cant wait to talk to my family in 20 more days! I love you all soooo much!

Love

Elder Wilson

Sorry theres no good stories this week but nothing out of the ordinary happened!

Is anyone listening? Talking to myself..

Hey Family how are you all?!
I am so glad to hear that everyone and their sister knows about my nose hairs but anyone who knows me pretty well already knows its a problem haha. This week was another good week! I am still English deprived but thats ok. Pdays were my usual day to get all the english out but today we ate with the district and I am the only whitey so didnt get to let out my English! I catch myself talking to my self a lot. I now see how dad picked up talking to himself. The only problem is no one ever answers me when I talk so I answer myself and then I realize that I am actually carrying out a conversation with myself and I realize that that is really weird so I try to stop. I catch myself doing it a lot while I am in the bathroom so I have started to read while I am in there to try and stop the cconversaions because it is a little wierd!
This week- Started out weird. Last monday, an Elder in my Zone got hit by a car going 40 mph. The elders that were with him said it was insane and that he got hit so hard. No bones or anything were broken but he is rashed up pretty bad. He is a native and is in the capital right now and they say it will prob be awhile before he returns. The elders he was with were pretty shaken up but know that he was protected.

GOOD NEWS~ Migdalia y Emilio (family cabral) Got married on Weds! Finally it all came together! We committed them to be sealed in a year from now! They got baptized on saturday along with their kid and another kid named pablo that has 18 years! The rama should have about 8 missioneries leaving in a year!
Miguelina is cooking for us.....im going to die..... some of the stuff is pretty sketchy. Even Elder Espinola is scared of some of the stuff! Haha but I just eat it and pray and hope that the food will be blessed because we are trying to help her out. We invited he to accept another date for her baptism (this sat) and when we told her she said that she was talking with her brother right before we came and told him that she wanted to be baptized that exact day... some people say that there are consequences but I choose to believe they are "tender mercies". We just happened to feel like we should ask her and that happened to be the day she decided she was ready. Theres more to life than just consequences.
I realized that I am so greatful to be surrounded by the people here. Everyone loves Christ. Everyone is always thankful. The worst response that I have heard when I have asked someone how there day is was its ok but thanks to God I know tomorrow will be better. A lot of them have hard lives but are always remembering that Christ loves them and they always find things to be grateful for instead of thinking about what they don't have. I wish I could be more like that.
They eat cough drops for candy here... I had gotten used to the idea until i bought a bunch at the store the other day and realized that I am buying cough drops and a candy. That is really weird but then I shrugged my shoulders and said what the heck and bought them anyway.
Elder Espinola completed a year on Friday! We went and bought empanadas to celebrate (i am in love with empanadas) Then for dinner I had four biscochitos or something like that and a liter of coke. They are 5 pesos and have 210 calories each. I had to pee a lot that night.
On saturday a crazy lady that is always asking us to give her stuff stopped us in the street and asked if we were testigos (jehovas witnesses) and elder Espinola said that we were and that she should go to the church of them tomorrow to get the stuff we want haha.. It was really funny but I guess you had to be there.

You will have to let us know if you can get some of the juice stuff Mathias wrote about. Those sound delicious!
How many of the people you baptize stick with the church? As of right now they are all still active!

How many members do they have to get before they can make it into a ward? It is a stake as a whole! I am not sure what the exact numbers are!

Do you feel like you were able to pick up on what people were saying this week any better? I felt like I could talk a lot more this week but wow I still can not understand what they are saying for nothing! It is frustrating but I am trying to just chill and let it come! Someday!

Mothers day i think I call after we are done with working for the day because the domincan mothers day is a different day. so i think I will call about 6 your time 9 here... possible a little earlier or later!
I love you all so much and miss you all sooo much! Thanks for all your love and support!

Bed Wetter

Hola Familia!

Your letter was pretty insain and so our family! And sounds like maren is pretty busy up there! Sounds like the norm pinetop trip! Makes me miss pinetop a little! Sour cream....yikessss. I sure do miss you family! This week was good but still struggling a lot with Spanish. It is prettty discouraging at times. Dad was inspired to write me about patience because that is definently what I needed to hear. I actually got too see 3 sessions of conference but all of them were in spanish so I didnt get very much out of it. I am trying to listen to it now but the computer is soo slow. I think I am only going to be able to listen to one and I am going to listen to Pres Uch.
We have taught a lot this week with Joselito (the one that was baptized last week) and he is doing awesome. The people know him as "Che-lo" which is like his gangster name but now everytime anyone says that name he says that he doesnt know that person. Its really funny and kinda of corny but it is his way of changing andthats really cool!
The few things Id like to ask you to do, to print pictures here it costs more than 50 cents from every photo. If you could send with the package a copy for every baptism and one extra for Elder Espinola that would be awesome but I dont know if that is easy or not. If it is too hard that is totally understandable! THe other thing I was thinking would be cool is a cheap az shirt for elder Espinola! U of A pride! Others-juice packets like always. Any packets for food! and this is really random but idk if they are expensive or not so if the are def no but I am growing nose hairs like crazy so a nose hair trimmer haha, tweasers...
This week was good. We went to Marry the family Cabral and they were are dressed up and pretty but they didnt have their original identity so they could not do it! They were so sad:( It was horrible but were going to rtry and get it all together so that they can get married this week!
Thursday night it started pouring! It was actually a lot of fun! We were soaked when we got into the house! It was pretty insane!
The niext morning I woke up and my bed was really wet. I was thinking what happened here?! I freaked out and came to the conclusion that I had peed the bed so I ran down and threw my things in the washer! I came back up and was hoping Elder Espinola wouldnt see how wet the bed was. I flipped it over so he couldnt see and then I came back about 10 minutes later and it was still wet! I was like wow i peed alot and then Elder E came in with a pitcher and placed it on my bed and pointed to the roof....there was a leak... haha i laughed for a good 10 minutes about that one.
We had 3 baptisms this week. Milagro and her grand daughter and Jesus. Jesus showed up an hour and a half later aseverone was walking out and he asked us where everyone was going and acted like nothing was wrong so we all ran back in and he was baptized! Welcome to standard domincan time!
Yesterday we ate lunch the the family Cabral because on sat he told us that he couldnt go to conf because he lost his job and he had no food so we bought the food and ate with them so that they could go. They sure do love us haha we are helping them a lot and i love it.
That is about all for now
I love you all lots and think about you all and pray for you all lots!
Thanks for all your love and support!
Love
Elder Wilson
