District Conference and Carnival

Hey Fam how are you doing?!?
I am doing great and loving life here in San Juan. Last week they ended up canceling the temple trip but we are going to leave for the capital today adn going to the temple tomorrow in the morning. I am not really looking for to riding en a caribe tours bus again because i get so carsick everytime. I would rather a beat up opened windowed bus way more. But it will be worth it to be able to go to the temple.
This week was great we had lots of success and found lots of new people. We have some great investigatores that will really progress. We have one named Lauri and she is SOOO amazing. Always reads and ponders about it and is receiving answers to her prayers and gaining a testimony of the Book of Mormon. She was from a diferent religion before so she is taking a little longer to accept a batismal date but she is so amazing. They other people we have just need to get married and then they will get baptised. We are working with a family of 5 that would be awesome. THe husband is almost never there so that makes it a little harder. I think they will get bapitized too. If I leave in the next transfer I will miss a lot of their baptisms but the important thing is that they get baptized. I will be so happy.
It was district conference weekend here in San Juan. Presidente Almonte and a member of the Area Seventy came. It was really good. As we were going out to our area to work we saw maricela, the one that going baptised 2 weeks ago, on the way to the saturday session. It was such a cool experience seeing her walking with her less active friend to the sat session. Just seeing the fruits of the labor. We were able to help the friend get active and her to get baptized and they are progressing on their own now. I kinda felt like a proud parent would of their kid doing the right things.
It has been pretty crazy here with the carnival. Its a holiday thingy they have here where everyone dresses up in masks with whips going around everywhere. Its pretty cool. Its liuke that picture i sent you the other day.
I love my calling and the chance I have to be here. Thanks for all your love and support and prayers. I learned a lot from Pres Almonte's talk yesterday. He talked about the power of prayer and how we cant just be beggars when we pray. We have to come up with a plan as we pray and have to act so that God can answer our prayers. IT was a good lesson for me.
Love you all so much thanks for your love and support

Red and Blue

Hey family how are you all doing?!?!

First things first... Aubrey needs to write Elder Dolan... I think its what you call love at first sight! :) haha I would def approve!!

So this week was amazing. We had two more baptisms and they were awesome. Started more than an hour and a hlaf late but thats on time Dominican style :)

I got some mail this week from Aubs and her saying she got in a wreck... Kartchner woman... i dont know why they always give them their liscenses!!! But thanks a bunch Aubrey for the letter it was great hearing from you!!! We sent you a later in the mail today. We being Elder Dolan and me! I also got a letter from Keato saying how he has gone to the temple 8 times since being in Peru!!!! THats so crazying being that my second time will be TOMORROW!!! They called today saying that I get to go tomorrow!

Today we went to Elias Pina to go to the market. I got some New Balance dress shoes for 250 pesos... o sea 12 bucks brand spankin new!!! I also buck some mockasins and am wearing them with my red pants. Elder Dolan got some red pants too soo we are looking stlyish today. I wish i could send you a pic of us but with the virus on my memory card it wont let me load them.

We are having lots of success and were very grateful for it. Solando and Rosa are finally going to be able to get married and baptised... but in 2 months. Her papers were aproved so that she can finally be a citizen here and then they can get married then baptised but we have to wait two months until her indentification comes back.

It was a great week. I love this work. I love this gospel. I love that Ive been able to learn so much. It is soo amazing. Its hard out here but an experience that is irreplacable. It is so worth it and by doing it the Lord can guide us. My plans, dreams, priorities, and so much more have all changed being out here on the mission and now I can see that the Lord is forming the life He wants me to have. Its so nice to finally "get things" a little more. Its such a great blessing to be able to serve and receive so many blessings.

I love you all so much thanks for all you do!! keep up the faith and remember theres never a reason to not be happy!!!

(G)love is blind...

Hey family how are you all doing?!?! I am doing well! Another good week. We finally got Maricela baptised and it was amazing! It was such a good baptism. She got up after she got baptised and gave an amazingly simple but profound testimony. As she was giving it I am not going to lie i was very proud. Kinda extra proof of how ready she really was.
One question, I was talking to Elder Dolan the other night and we started going into our family story and all and it made me wonder if Papa's ever said anything about my letter? Have you guys heard anything from him? Id really like to hear from him if he has time. Even an short email.
Tell Bro Brown that it was the animated Jose Smith video that we used. It was awesome. I had never seen it before.
Solando and Rosa are doing great. He is working like crazy to get her declared as a citizen so that they can get marriend and then baptised. We have been helping them out money wise because they are very poor but I dont have a problem because hes willing to do the dirty work. As a 70 yr man hes running all over town to get it all done. We hoping to get them married this week or early next week to get baptised in the coming week.
On Thursday I went and got my sonogram done. Luckily this time the guy used gloves. It was still defininetly awkward. The results came out saying I have a sist that is .7 cm x .6 cm so I called Hermana Almonte to tell her and then she talked to Presidente and they told me to go to the capi on sunday afternoon so I could get checked this morning. Again I went to the same guy and ofcourse he didnt not use any gloves to check. He says he doesnt see any problem with it and doesnt think that its anything dangerous so didnt really tell me anything to do so it must be fine.
Last night I got to go work out with the Aps. I went with Elder Falor. Hes a great Elder and an awesome kid. Hes so funny. IT was weird working my first day ever in the capital. Theres so many people and so much happening. Driving around made me feel back in the states!! It was kinda weird. There were actually more cars then motorcylces!!!
So that is my week in a nutshell. Nothing to interesting. Friday I had an intercambio with Elder Bird. It was fine. Last Thursday Elder Goodmansen got a year in the mission so we had an icecream cake and the frosting tasted like FROSTING!!! it was soo amazing.
Thats about all I can think of!!!
Love you all lots. I love the work and enjoy what I do! ITs a priceless blessing being here serving the Lord. Its not easy but its worth it. Love you all lots

Baptized Taylor Swift

Hola Familia!!!! how are you all doing??? I am doing great!! Another amazing week!!! We had a baptism on Saturday. That was good. It was a 17 year old girl thats been going to church for more than 6 months now so they finally said that it was probably time to get her baptised. We didnt have to do much because she already knew everyhting. So Elder Dolan got to do his frist baptism. He was super nervous but did great. I was a proud daddy. Apparently we forgot to tell her that she would need to bring extra undergarments so we had to go to back to the house and we got some shorts of Elder Dolan and then the only female shirt we had was the taylor swift shirt so elder dolan and I like to claim that we baptised taylor swift!! haha it was pretty tight.
I felt really loved this week. I got like 15 letters. Some from Elder Brown, we played the animated Jose Smith video and it was the most reverent baptism I have ever had here. Now I know the secret... play cartoons... thats how you can get people to be reverent. others from bro mccook, haley, kalob, HANNAH!!! haha, sister baker, one from sis rosemore from the beggining of october... 5 months later haha, pictures from meagan, jessie, susas... Thanks everyone for that. I also got a package from mom with the u of a shower curtain.. it is hanging up in my room next to me bed :)
The funny story of the week was in a lesson elder dolan was testifying and I started to testify when he finished and there was a little dog sitting there scratching himself and when i looked down..... lets just say to payson we would have said "put it away" but all three of us, elder dolan, the kid that was with us, and I we all noticed at the same time and we just started blurting out laughing. It was disgusting. Then the people realised what we were laughing at we idk it was hilarious.
Lesson of the week was in Mosiah 20... The daughters of the lamanitas were captured and The lamonites reacted with out knowing the whole story and supposed it was the pueblo of limhi and went to fight against the pueblo of limhi. a lot of people died innocently. When Limhi asked the king of the lamanitas why they came to battle against him he said it was because he had captured their daughters. Limhi then told them that it wasnt them. that it was the high priests of Noah. All that could have been avoided if before acting with anger, they could have talked and figured out both sides. Sometimes we react thinking that we know why someone did something but in reality it wasnt even them or they had a different reasonings behind why they did it than what we thought. Idk if that makes sense or not but it hit me really hard.
But that is my week in a nutshell. now for moms questions.

Now for the questions for you:

- Did you get the sonogram done!? What did you find out? negativo..
- Did you get your poop retested? negativo number 2
- How did your investigators progress this week. I loved hearing how you were specifically led to people last week. That is so cool
solando and rosa... we still need to get her declared as a citizen so they can get married and then baptised... they are so amazing. they went to the baptism on sat
- Any neat stories for the week? I thought the payson putting it away story was pretty neat :)
- What did they end up doing to "fix" your apartment? they fixed the outlets and painted it and put in new toilets and thats about it. Is it better I hope? its better but the shower still leaks but now they say that its the lady upstairs responsibility.
- Cooking anything good these days? tuna pasta every morning!!! i am in love
- As far as shirts... you liked the ones we got in Mesa right? brand enro... 16 1/2 short sleeve yes ..

love you all so much thanks for your love and support...
